Tai Chi
Tai Chi for your Health & Relaxation
Gentle and slow movements in Tai Chi increase the flow of blood and oxygen, improve balance of body, and enhance mental clarity. One movement to another opens up restriction of muscles and joints in a subtle manner. Before you know it, you realize that you are breathing deeply and calmly. Combined actions of slow movements and deep breathing are really massaging your internal organs and muscles, and it is very relaxing. Some people say that Tai Chi is meditation in motion. Since doing Tai Chi naturally allows and leads you to focus on the present moment, you gain calmness and inner peace.
My Experience with Tai Chi
Mind and Body Relationships
Tai chi offers so many benefits to your health, both physical and mental. However, only drawback is that it takes time to be able to do it by yourself. When I started 12 years ago, it took me a few months to remember just 3 or 4 movements well (with extremely busy life style with 2 small children in the house). I knew that I was benefiting from Tai Chi to some extent but felt disappointed by the fact that it would take a long time to learn well. Then I changed the attitude to learn Tai Chi from learning now to learning throughout my life and grow with it since I was doing this for my own health. I decided to practice Tai Chi as a life-long pursuit like learning art. Since then, by practicing Tai Chi, it helped me a lot to learn about relaxing my own body, using correct body mechanism, listening to my own body intuitively and sensibly. Twelve years later, I am still learning Tai Chi.
