Jin Shin Do ® Bodymind Acupressure ®

Ultimate Bodymind Experience.

Release & Balance Qi

 Purpose of Acupressure treatment:

To relieve points in the body where tension, blockage, and stagnation usually occur.

To increase awareness of our own internal body-mind unity

To be balanced and centered

Jin Shi Do® acupressure uses the same points as acupuncture, but instead of needling,
the points are held firmly yet gently with the fingers.

This clothes-on method helps you to feel safe and relieve stress–  and trauma– related problems such as tension and discomforts associated with physical problems and distressing feelings.

Usually two points are combined - one in an area of local tension, and the other distal to it,
but on the same ’meridian” or “channel” (energy pathway). The distal points help the
local point to release more deeply, easily and pleasantly, by helping to disperse the
stagnation and restore a smooth flow of vital energy (Qi).

It promotes a pleasant trancelike state, in which one can relax and move out of the head
and into the body, accessing feeling, inner wisdom, and joy.

Jin Shin Do ® acupressure was developed, beginning in 1976, by California psychotherapist Iona Marsaa Teeguarden. It is a unique synthesis of

1)   A traditional Japanese acupressure technique
2)   Classis Chinese acupuncture theory
3)   Taoist philosophy
4)   Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques)
5)   Western bodymind work (Dr. Wilhelm Reich’s theory of segmental armoring)
6)   Principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy

Jin Shin Do ® acupressure is recognized as a major form of Asian Bodywork Therapy
(by NCCACOM & AOBTA among others).
